Counselling - Reach out
Counselling can help you understand, resolve and move beyond feelings and issues creating distress or discomfort in your life allowing you to enjoy your life more. You deserve to feel fully real, to be at peace with who you are and to enjoy your life. We all encounter problems in our lives, in truth life is a problem solving exercise! Sometimes we just need help putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
Major life transitions force change in our existing lives. When major transitions are embraced and seen as a gateway to becoming something new, magic can follow. When transitions cause stress and anxiety and unwillingness to change, professional help may need to be sought to facilitate this movement forward.
I can name many major transitions we go through; puberty & adolescence, marriage, divorce, financial struggle, mid life crisis, death of someone close, retrenchment, retirement, grand parenting and finally facing one’s own mortality. There are many more transitions that could be named. I will explain the impact these transitions may have on everyday functioning.
Individuals differ in our ability to undergo change and how vulnerable we feel during this time, there could be several outcomes to our situations depending on the presenting circumstances. If financial security, good health and emotional security are present within a supportive network a more positive outcome could be expected, as opposed to the resulting prognosis for someone experiencing the opposite set of factors whose everyday functioning would prove markedly different.
Counselling can consist of Talk Therapy alone or it may be used in conjunction with Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy and other techniques designed to help you understand and move safely through your current problem.

being a caterpillar”
Group SessionsA counseling/psychotherapy group is usually comprised of 6-8 people who meet face to face with 1 or 2 trained facilitators and talk about what is concerning them most.
Members listen to each other and openly provide each other with feedback. These interactions give members an opportunity to increase understanding, try out new ways of being with others and learn more about the ways they interact. The content of the group sessions is confidential; members agree not to identify other members or their concerns outside of group. Group work can be very powerful and allows for members to access parts of themselves and gain healing and understanding through identifying with another members’ personal work. Group work can also be for inspirational, motivational coaching, allowing for positive forward movement in a desired direction. |
Individual sessionsI offer sessions for individuals to work confidentially on their own issues.
Couple &Relationship sessionsSessions for couples to explore their relationship and gain better understanding of their “couple” dynamic.
Couples often don’t understand why they are struggling. They think that there’s something wrong with them or something is inherently flawed about their relationship. Sometimes, partnerships can’t be continued. In these cases it’s often preferable to see the relationship as having been completed rather than seeing your relationship as being broken. Even separation can be negotiated with mutual respect and a desire to see the other live their best life. |
